Eu vou falar a verdade: eu acho que o Thomen tava era cansado de tocar o estilo do Blind. Acho que ele queria algo mais moderno.

Fiquei realemente triste com a noticia, nunca me passou pela cabeca que um dia algo assim poderia acontecer com o blind.
Mas espero que agora eles encontrem um substituto a altura, o q, digasse de passagem, eh mto dificil...

Eu na verdade pensava que se ele saísse seria por causa daquele problema dele nos tendões que inclusive o impediu de vir ao Brasil em 2002. Mas não imaginava que a saída fosse por questões musicais e tal.

Pra mim o Thomen foi o que mais evoluiu ali como musico, depois do hansi. A saída dele foi uma pessima noticia...

Os guitarristas nem precisavam evoluir ... sempre foram fodas desde o início. Quando digo foda, quero dizer foda ao estilo Blind Guardian ...

bom, o André é foda mesmo. sempre foi. mas o Marcus...sei lá. eu vi umas partes do dvd e ele não parecia fazer muita coisa. tanto que eu achei que se ele saisse seria o que menos faria diferença na banda.
mas pode ser que tenha sido só aquelas partes que eu vi.

Pelo contrario, pelo visto ele não estava satisfeito com o rumo que o Blind estava tomando depois do Nigthfall e resolveu sair, já montou uma banda nova que lembra muito Blind antigo.

Pelo contrario, pelo visto ele não estava satisfeito com o rumo que o Blind estava tomando depois do Nigthfall e resolveu sair, já montou uma banda nova que lembra muito Blind antigo.

Hi friends,

I hope the shock about my departure from the band wasn’t too much, but I’m sure time will heal these wounds.

As I mentioned before in the forum, over the last two years I have been working on two different formations: the Modern Metal Project with Bjoern (Soilwork) and Savage Circus. Since leaving Blind Guardian, Savage Circus has become my main project.

Here a few personal words to introduce you to Salvage Circus …

SAVAGE CIRCUS – THE CREATION

It began two years ago in my home studio while working on a few songs for a Blind Guardian album.

As I finished the first song I realized very quickly that it would not fit in with the BG style. My new song seemed to sit much more with Tales/ Somewhere../ Imaginations..as for “A Night at the Opera” kind of thing.

At that moment the idea was born to bring a few people together to write more songs like this.

But the question was with whom?

I received a parcel in May 2004 with the new Iron Savior CD, sent to me by my old mate Piet.

After listening to the album I rang Piet to congratulate him on his newest creation. As we started talking I told him about my new project and asked him if he would be interested to listen to my new songs.

He invited me to spend a weekend in his house in Andalusia, so I went.

He listened to three songs and became very enthusiastic and said with a wide grin “You have to listen to this stuff I recently produced. I’m sure you will recognize the style.” As soon as I heard the first notes I found myself barely breathing - this was Melody Power Metal with the voice of a singer, similar to Hansi’s in the good old days of BG.

The Band was called Persuader, a young band from Sweden. This band seemed to fit musically as well as lyrically perfectly into my plans. And as Piet told me they were extremely nice with their feet on the ground. I realized these boys where on my wave length and decided to contact them to see if they were interested to work with me on my new project. Piet gave me their contact address and after this incredible weekend I made my way back to Madrid.

On the next day I contacted Jens and Emil (Vocals/Guitar) to send them the files of the songs on MP3. They loved the idea about the project instantly, and this united the three of us. Suddenly the idea came to me to ask Piet to help with the production, as a good friend for the last 15 years and a fantastic producer would make a lot of sense. Luckily enough he was happy to work with us. The band was almost complete with only a bass player missing, Piet offered to take over the job on the bass, which gave us enough time to find the right man for touring.

In August we all met up in Hamburg at Piet’s Powerhouse Studio to get know everyone personally and to produce a demo of our first song. It turned out to be incredibly productive and we hit it off with each other instantly. We managed to produce not only one but two songs. Death Devil was born with the pseudonyms Unholy, Rotting Corps, Hellmaster and Angelsmasher.

We were extremely motivated and decided to keep on writing songs in Sweden, Germany and Spain. We exchanged ideas over the internet, via MP3’s and meet as often as possible to produce more songs. In the end we had 9 killer songs to show for our work and had managed to get a very fair deal with the brand new label Dockyard1 where Piet is a partner. This gave us the perfect base with which to work together from and it has been altogether very positive.

In February 2005 we began the production. We laid the drum tracks down in Karo’s studio, where I recorded the drums previously for my other project Modern Metal Stil with Bjoern, the singer of Soilwork. After 10 days the drums were recorded leaving only bass, vocals and guitars to go. Piet is at this moment mixing but we will not be able to finish before mid May because we don’t want to miss out on the contribution of Rolf Koehler, who tours unfortunately until the beginning of May. At the moment you can hear on my homepage all the MP3’s in pre-production style.

The cooperation with Bjoern was originally planned as a side-project and to be released later, but due to the separation with BG plans changed. Savage Circus is from now on my main band, which is more suitable because style wise I feel more at home here. I still stand 100% behind my work with Blind Guardian but my favorites were always “Tales..”, “Somewhere…”,”Imagination..” and “Nightfall”.

At the same time, I’d like to make it absolutely clear – Savage Circus or any other project of mine never had anything to do with my separation with Blind Guardian. We just realized in the last three years that our musical and personal differences were too hard to overcome.

I realize that my statement might not be enough for some of you. Maybe it helps to see it more like a broken down marriage, as in that case you would want to keep the internal details to yourself as well. It is always hard for people not directly involved to understand each side 100%. It is easy to judge - be it be justified or not. We decided not to give in-depth details to our fans but the basic reasons are still valid.

So it will be the best for everyone involved, as hopefully it turns out the best for me. I can understand your initial disappointment, but I hope you can accept our decision.

I can assure you that I read every single word in the BG forum and I’m truly moved by your sadness and all the supporting words. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your faith in us and your mails. I’d like reassure you that our separation is definitely NOT the beginning of the end for Blind Guardian. All we want is to produce honest music, which is almost impossible if members in the band don’t have the same goal. We preferred in the end this separation so BG can still be a band with integrity – only the players have slightly changed. I will do the same only with different musicians and different visions for the future.

I hope that you like Savage Circus and you allow us entry into your fantastic world of Melody Power Metal.

At the very least I hope I made you a bit happier.

Gostei da proposta do Thomen para esta nova banda (Savage Circus); é como se ele dissesse: "Esse é o caminho que o Blind deveria ter seguido, mas do qual se desviou com o ANATO" (bem, e ele diz isso mesmo, com outras palavras). E ele tem razão - sou mais o Blind de antes do ANATO. O último álbum foi algo do tipo "vejam como melhoramos muito tecnicamente"; sem dúvida melhoraram, mas às custas do estilo mais Power que tinham antes, ficando algo mais Melódico... e, como todo Melódico, enjoativo: se tem um álbum do Blind que escutei pouco foi o ANATO - uma hora simplesmente enjoa e não desce mais.

Mesmo em estado de pré-produção, gostei das músicas do Savage que ouvi. Se nesse estado mais "cru" elas já estão ótimas, imagina quando acabar a produção e terminarem de "lapidar" as faixas! O som simplesmente remete ao Blind do Imaginations e do NIME (o que não pode ser melhor); até o vocalista lembra absurdamente o Hansi quando o gogó dele estava mais inteiro (o que obviamente também é ótimo).

No final das contas, se bobear vem um dos álbuns do ano aí.

Bom, seguindo uma linha de raciocínio e lendo o que o Thomen e o Hansi já falaram e que o próximo álbum já está sendo criado, podemos deduzir que esse álbum não vai retornar às origens como alguns gostariam, senão não haveria porquê o Thomen sair da banda.

Então acho que podemos esperar algo na linha do ANATO, ou algo totalmente diferente de tudo.

Vai saber, mas acho que um álgum como SWFB, ou NIME nem pensar por enquanto.

Eu curto o Blind atual, mas meus discos favoritos sao da epoca mais porrada do SFB e IFTOS.

Aliás, pra quem não participava do processo criativo até que o Thomen tá mandando muito bem.

Exatamente. O próprio Thomen diz aí em cima que o som favorito dele foi o Blin até o Nime e que a partir daí a banda já não fazia mais o som que o agradava. Ora, isso só pode significar que esse novo álbum vai vir mais "exagerado", mais "grandioso" do que o A Night At The Opera. O que é uma pena pois o ANATO é o álbum que eu menos gosto do Blind, mesmo tendo músicas fantásticas como And Then There Was Silence e Soulforged.

Nesse ponto eu estou com o Thomen e não abro.

o pior é que você tá certo....como todo mundo já falou, não que o ANATO seja ruim, é que mudaram demais...mas ainda tenho esperanças de que esse novo cd vai ser diferente do ANATO e muito foda.

Não entendo porque tantas esperanças. O Thomen era um batera animal, mas nunca compôs nada no Blind. Os grandes responsáveis pelos discos antigos eram o Hansi e o Andre. Eles são os grandes compositores.

Talvez por que tenha ocorrido um monopólio na parte de composição? Acontece em várias bandas isso.

Estou ouvindo Ghost Story agora. Ela parece que vai numa linha mais Nightfall In Middle Earth com uns troques de Imaginations From The Other Side.

A primeira eu já ouvi: Evil Eyes. O nome é manjado, mas Deus do céu, que música!! Que bagulho maravilhoso !!! Puro Blind Guardian na fase Tales From The Twilight World / Somewhere Far Beyond, porém com mais melodia. O destaque vai para o vocal, Hansi Kürsch puro!! O nome do cara é Jens Karlsson que toca na banda sueca Persuader (aliás, confiram no Bardos de Ouro, pois essa mesma banda foi votada por mim como a revelação de 2004). Aliás, sério, deve ser pegadinha, pois as guitarras são o puro 'estilo Olbrich'. Deve ter sido ele que gravou, não é possível. Mas mesmo assim a música é simplesmente sensacional. Melhor até mesmo que o Persuader.

Edit: Acabei de ouvir a Ghost Story também. Fudida !! Mas é que a primeira é realmente especial e clássica desde a primeira ouvida.

Fãs de Blind Guardian, estejam preparados, esse CD vai ser bombástico e maravilhoso. o Savage Circus já nasceu grande!!

agora tá terminando a Ghost Story. achei muito boa também, mas preferi a anterior.
