Vocês acham que é história mesmo depois que os dois vieram a público e explicaram o que se passava? O Schaffer disse que realmente queria que ele continuasse, que daria um tempo pra ele relaxar e pensar. Parece que o Barlow foi sincero mesmo. Não tava afim de cantar, parou. Não força a barra.

Mas eu estou achando que esse disco novo vai ser legal, apesar de não ser tão bom como poderia justamente pelos vocais. Mas eu entendo uma coisa, o Ripper tem um timbre bem mais parecido com o dois outros dois vocalistas que o Iced teve antes do Barlow, que faziam mais o estilo agudo mesmo. O Barlow que era o vozerão grave.

Pô cara, eu curto muuuito o Barlow... Mas o Ripper eh considerado até mesmo pelo próprio Barlow um dos melhores vocalistas de Heavy Metal da atualidade. E eu concordo com ele, segundo Jon Schaffer esse foi o melhor álbum jah gravado por eles...
Ele disse na entrevista pra Roadie Crew(achu q eh assim q escreve) q as gravações feitas com o Barlow eram todas cansativas e chatas de se fazer, mas com o Ripper foi muito divertido e talz...

As gravações desse disco estava cansativas, foi isso o que eu li. Porque o Barlow já estava pensando em outras coisas, não estava mais com a alma para se dedicar a música. Por isso que foi legal, ele foi sincero. Poderia ter forçado e ganhar uma grana a mais, mas encheu, saiu.

O Schaffer sempre disse que o Barlow era solução dentro da banda. Nâo precisava de pedir para cantar com sentimento ou coisa assim.

Eh deve ser isso mesmo q tah escrito, pq foi o meu amigo q comprô a revista e me contou... Mas eu naum tenho nada contra o Ripper, vcs viram o grande trabalho q ele fez na When The Eagle Cries?!?! E em The Rockoning tb... Apesar de na hora que eu fiquei sabenu q o Barlow saiu eu ter ficado puto, eu fiquei muito satisfeito com a entrada do Tim...

sinceramente, o album vai ser bom...
...estou dizendo isso mesmo sem ter ouvido as musicas novas, pois confio em Jon Schaffer, ele eh um dos melhores compositores do mundo, o kra eh puro Feeling!

mesmo naum gostando do Ripper como fan de Metal(ele naum eh muito verdadeiro), gosto como musico! o kra tem um puta vocal, soh q às vezes a voz dele eh meio nojenta...mas continua sendo bom!

vou comprar o album quando sair!
vou ouvi-lo com cuidado e atenção!
e provavelmente vou me influenciar por ele em minhas musicas...

...e talvez, quem sabe, possa ateh curtir mais a ideia de q o Ripper estah no Iced Earth!

porq pra mim oq improta naum eh se o cara canta bem, mas sim se o kra ama o q faz e eh completamente fiel a isso! eu sei q o Ripper naum eh, ele naum eh um verdadeiro fan de Metal...mas quem sabe a força de sua voz, a pegada e tudo naum possam compensar isso nas gravações?

Análise do Glorious Burden do metalreviews.com. O cara detestou o álbum.


The third song of Gettysburg's trilogy is over. The first spin of Iced Earth's new album comes to an end.

I would like to tell you that The Glorious Burden is the best ever Iced Earth record, but what an enormous lie it would be. In fact, since Burnt Offerings, Iced Earth never sounded so weak, so divided. For the first time since I fell in love with this U.S. heavy metal band - that was for Dark Saga - the song-writing is weak, lacking inspiration, almost tasteless. Worst, there is no killer track ... except may be The Reckoning (used for the single). So what happened ? How the promising best US heavy metal band felt so quickly ?

Oh I will not blame Tim ... that would be to easy and very unfair. No I blame directly Jon ... or "Super Jon" should I say. Yeah I will call him now Super Jon following the recent interviews he gave for many European heavy metal magazines. Let's resume some of your sentences my dear "Super Jon" :

- Matthew brought nothing for Iced Earth ...
- I am the one who write everything ....
- With Matthew out, Iced Earth will never be as big as today ...
- Matthew is stupid ... he needed two weeks for the recording of his vocals ....
- Matthew this, Matthew that, Matthew again ...

I am smashed to see how Super Jon has crucified so quickly his very ever best friend Matthew - Jon said two years ego that he finally found a real friend, that was Matthew Barlow. Hummm, I can't judge Matthew's attitudes, nor his performance in studio - even though Matthew's performance on Alive In Athens are far from Jon's accusations. No that's true, I can't judge what I haven't seen ... but I can judge what I have just heard. The Glorious Burden is the worst album of Iced Earth since their ... first album. Considering what has been said above about Matthew Barlow ... Jon shouts, claims, is arrogant on every European metal magazine saying he is the master-thinking inside Iced Earth, his own band. Honestly, which Iced Earth fan on this planet doesn't know that ? Humility Jon is a word that doesn't belong to your vocabulary. Your promotion tour in Europe sucks ... so does your last album ... oooops sorry Iced Earth's last album !!! The good thing is that you can't blame Matthew for that

Well, let's go back to the word I used : DIVIDED !

From one part, there is this magnificent voice - Tim's voice of course - who saves the "printing" of the album. But unfortunately for Jon - oooops Iced Earth - it sounds too much like Rob Halford has been "invited" to sing on the new Iced Earth. Iced Earth's music ? No, I should I say an awful Iron Maiden copycat version. For the first time since I know Iced Earth - ooooops sorry Super Jon - the riffs are tasteless, copy-pasted a thousand time from previous Iced Earth albums (not to say Iron Maiden). Iced Earth's classic riff and rhythm is dead, gone, disappeared, vanished away, crucified ! Honestly, you will have the feeling to listen to Judas Priest meets Iron Maiden for the most part of the album. Pathetic ! Strangely it coincides with the departure of Matthew, but I prefer to leave Jon with his own "devil" thinking.

Divided ? Hell yes. When I do not have the feeling that Iron Maiden wrote this album twenty-years ago, Demons And Wizards comes to my mind. That's true for When The Eagle Cries, Valley Forge and Hollow Man. Ah Hollow Man, the famous track that Jon didn't want to give to Century Media because it is a killer, a masterpiece. Tim does an excellent job (again) on Hollow Man, but compare to I Died For You or Melancholy (Holy Martyr), this Hollow Man isn't the expected killer. Tim Owens is not Matthew and he is definitely not ... Hansi Kürsch.Yes this record is divided because some songs were written for the next Demons And Wizards, but Super Jon kept them for himself - ooops sorry, for Iced Earth. At this stage, I am wondering how the new label impacted Super Jon ? Money ???

Except The Reckoning - the single - the only track that saves the day is Red Baron / Blue Max. Guess what ? This is the only track where Tim Owens was allowed to work on (lyrics). This might be the "hope door" for Iced Earth ... if Jon accepts to work as a team of course. After many spins, Waterloo, Attila, Declaration Day and Red Baron / Blue Max became my favorite tracks ... but Iced Earth remains at a thousand light years away from Horror Show. At that time I though I over-rated Horror Show. Well today, after the listening of The Glorious Burden, I realize how Wolf or Dracula were not over-rated.

And let's talk now of Gettysburg 1863 - you know, new Super Jon's trilogy. This is a complete disaster compare to the one ending Something Wicked This Way Comes. What a tasteless trilogy, boring ... a never ending instrumental abyss track with no melodies, no emotions. Tim saves the day again. Ah I almost forgot, there is an orchestra on this trilogy. Let me laugh !!! Compare to Rage/Lingua Mortis Orchestra albums, Jon - ooooops sorry Super Jon - is a tiny rocky who seems to write his first ever classic song. For info Super Jon, Peter "Peavy" Wagner gives accelerated lessons. Same label just in case of

You know the difference between the last Iron Maiden and the new Iced Earth album. The cover of Iron Maiden sucks ... but the music is marvelous. For Iced Earth, this is just the opposite

Iced Earth was my favorite band ... but you know, nothing is eternal.


Sinceramente?Acho que ele pegou pesado, mesmo elogiando o Ripper e falando que a culpa é do Jon, o single está bom, não é O Iced de sempre pois com a saída do Barlow podemos dizer que a banda perdeu grande parte de sua essência mas isso não quer dizer que eles fiquem ruim.

Eu achei o single novo uma porcaria. Realmente o Jon é mais um no mundo da música que quer "evoluir", porém renegando seu passado.

Bom, eu acho que de fato o autor do review é claramente um fã do Matt inconformado com sua saida. Uma coisa é fato e ninguem pode negar: Jon Schaffer É a mente dentro do Iced Earth, e queira ou não, Matt era apenas um vocalista, que nem fazia parte da formação original, essas coisas são assim mesmo dentro de uma banda. Quanto a "Judas Priest encontra Iron Maiden", bom, vc pode escutar Judas Priest claramente nas novas faixas do Iced, mas com excessão da capa, aonde esse kra viu Iron Maiden ali???

Quanto a falta de criatividade...bom, não sei se alguem jah notou, mas os riffs do Iced Earth são quase sempre os mesmos, acho que esse kra ai só notou isso agora... Apesar disso, o Iced Earth nunca perdeu sua qualidade, e é uma banda que gosto muito.

Vou esperar até que eu possa ouvir esse novo album, daí eu faço meu próprio review.

Eu já ouvi o disco inteiro e posso dizer que se trata de um ótimo álbum, bons riffs, músicas legais e um ótimo vocal.

Nem de longe é o melhor disco da banda, mas vale a pena uma escutada...

É que pra avaliar esse álbum, vai depender muito do ponto de vista da pessoa, assim como o ANATO do BG...

EU senti nas 4 musicas do single que o Jon mudou muito na maneira dele de criação dos riffs. Pode dar pra qualquer um o Something Wicked... e depois The Reckoning, há uma grande diferença na guitarra.

Eu acabei percebendo que critiquei, pois esse cd não seguiu o MEU ideal de Iced Earth.

Eu sou fã do Matt, e dai?

Tenta ouvir com outros ouvidos. É claro que se você estiver com o Something Wicked This Way Comes na cabeça (que por sinal também é o meu favorito do Iced) não vai curtir.

É como vocÊ falou, eu comparo este disco com o A Night At The Opera do Blind Guardian, você deve ouvir não tendo como base os antigos álbuns da banda.

Caramba, muita gente já conferiu o novo trabalho do Iced Earth, e eu até agora nada. Estou muito curioso pra conferir o resultado da entrada de Tim Owens na banda. Até agora só ouvi trechos das músicas que saíram no single "The Reckoning".
