Se soar com PESO, com um baixo no fundo, com um timbre de bateria decente, aí eu vou ter esperanças.

Se saísse uma edição do cd sem o Ripper, isso aí seria muito mais importante do que é. Eu nem sei se vou ouvir esse disco novo, porque realmente o Ripper estraga as música. Não acho que ele cante mal, ele tem uma voz potente e sabe usar, mas eu simplesmente não gosto da voz dele. Acho um timbre feio, enjoativo, que não combina com nada. Estraga até um instrumental bem feito.

Esse clipe aí mostra isso, pela música.

Já a parte visual é o seguinte, dá pra imaginar. O Schaffer disse assim "é um dico conceitual, eu quero contar a historinha nos clipes". Aí o Zé da gravadora falou "Pô, não tem dinheiro". No que ele responde "Se fosse desenho animado, seria melhor que um CG toscão" - aí ele pára, pensa, e exclama "Já sei! A gente faz tipo um desenho animado, pra poder ficar com custos passáveis. E inclusive a banda fica como desenho, pra combinar. Estou me inspirando na brilhante obra que Ralph Bakshi fez com O Senhor dos Anéis nos anos 70, meus clipes ficarão tão bons quanto"!

Eu já ouvi.

No começo foi aquele 'nossa, que merda é essa?'. Mas não sei, depois eu me acostumei com as músicas mais cadenciadas e os refrões em coro constantes e acabei gostando bastante no álbum. Ficou bem abaixo do que eu esperava, mas ainda assim eu gostei bastante, tem umas músicas que fazem valer a pena, como essa do clipe e a The Clouding.

E a melhor do cd, Framming Armageddon, que tem um riff final digno das melhores fases do Iced \,,/

Coisa horrível, Shaffer devia rever os conceitos dele quanto a fazer música e parar de querer fazer algo conceitual, só deixa os shows longos e sem graça.

MATT BARLOW IS BACK WITH ICED EARTH!

Hello, dear friends!

Once again the winds of change are upon us, and this time I can say that I am very happy about the result.

While out on the European tour I had several in depth discussions with many loyal ICED EARTH fans. A common theme of these discussions was how much Matt is missed. I agreed with the fans that things were not the same and that it was a very special period in ICED EARTH's history.

When I heard several months ago that Matt [Barlow] was going to be doing a project in music again, I was thinking about contacting him and seeing what his intentions were. I didn't act on this because I was so focused on the writing of the new epic, and frankly, it just didn't seem realistic.

Well, after getting out on the road and speaking with many of you directly, I decided to call Matt and see how he was doing and if he was interested in working together again. I am proud to say that he is coming back to ICED EARTH and we will be getting back to work in the studio very soon.

Matt will be singing on Part 2 of the 'Something Wicked' concept CD and we will be looking forward to getting out on tour and delivering a series of ICED EARTH shows that will rival any in the history of the band. And there will be a proper DVD filmed from this period, something we’ve all been waiting for.

I want you all to know that it was you who made this a reality. I have missed Matt's presence onstage and in my personal life in a big way over the past few years, so I appreciate your honesty in our discussions. It did help me realize the decision to move forward with pursuing this. The fans have spoken and we have delivered!

You true fans know that I'm a straight shooter, I say what I mean and mean what I say. And though I value your opinions greatly, you must believe that this is a decision that comes completely from the heart and is not motivated by anything other than what feels the best for ICED EARTH. This is the way that things have always been dealt with, for better or for worse, but always honestly and from the heart.

Tim Owens is a great and talented singer and I wish the best for him and his future on a personal and professional level.

There will be more news soon as to further developments and plans. This will push back the release of Part 2 a bit. Not because we couldn't be ready to record in time, but because of a new addition to Matt's family in early 2008!

I am very happy to announce that ICED EARTH is truly BACK!

Não sei se esses 2 discos vão se encaixar muito bem na voz do Barlow porque as músicas foram escritas pro Tim. Mas sei lá, o Barlow é foda e vai dar um jeito de deixar bom.

A impressão que eu tive é que Schaffer vai re-escrever o Something Wicked 2 só pro Barlow. Agora eu não consigo imaginar o Barlow no Framing.

Notícia boa e na hora errada.

Por mais que o Barlow seja uma parte da alma do Iced Earth, o Ripper estava fazendo um ótimo trabalho com a banda, numa fase ótima e ele não é um cantor ruim, na verdade ele é excepcional e só aparece como substituto das bandas.

E mais, o Shaffer só quer agradar os fãs, porque ele meteu o pau no Barlow depois da saída dele. Espero que ele se retrate (i.e., tenha uma boa desculpa) para a separação dele, a saída do Ripper e a reconciliação.

Sem contar que o baixista sai com certeza.

Fala sério, uma merda essa notícia. Não é por causa do Ripper que o Iced Earth tá ruim, é por causa do Shaffer que não sabe mais fazer um riff decente. Vai acabar com a antiga imagem da banda.

Resta saber para onde o Ripper vai... Provavelmente vai continuar na carreira solo que pelo jeito é bem superior ao IE atual.
