[Haleth]

Já saiu a lista de indicados ao Hugo Awards deste ano. Estou de olho nisso pela primeira vez na vida, rs.
Eu não sabia que eles davam prêmios para filmes e episódios de séries. Black Mirror tá lá concorrendo!

Vi um comentário numa página do FB que pode ser útil pra quem é novato como eu nisso:

Provenance (Ann Leckie) --> um spin-off da série Imperial Radch cujo primeiro livro, Justiça Ancilar, chega ao Brasil pela Aleph

Six Wakes (Mur Lafferty) --> um bom livro de suspense em uma atmosfera de ficção científica. Tem a ver com clonagem e um assassinato.

Raven Stratagem (Yoon Ha Lee) --> segundo volume da série Machineries of Empire. Uma space opera que recebeu várias críticas positivas no mercado americano.

New York 2140 (Kim Stanley Robinson) --> mais um romance desse monstro da ficção científica. Em uma Nova York pós devastação ambiental, o autor conta a história de um grupo de pessoas que vive em um conjunto habitacional.

The Collapsing Empire (John Scalzi) --> uma space opera em que os homens estão reduzindo as distâncias no espaço através de buracos de minhoca. Mas... algo começa a dar errado.

The Stone Sky (N.K. Jemisin) --> volume final da série A Terra Partida da autora. Aqui ela fecha as histórias e apresenta um final surpreendente. Dizem que é o melhor livro da série.

Comentários: Para mim, não tem favoritos. Ano passado, a Jemisin levou de lavada porque não tinham livros tão impactantes quanto The Obelisk Gate. Dessa vez, temos pelo menos três bons concorrentes à Jemisin. Sorry, mas este ano não aposto na autora. Fico com Kim Stanley Robinson, que combina muito bem com o espírito da premiação. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaas... não me espantaria se ela levasse o prêmio.

Se isso acontecer, N.K. Jemisin faria um feito inédito em toda a história da premiação. Seria a primeira autora de todos os premiados a levar o prêmio por três anos consecutivos, tendo sua série inteira levado um Hugo. Isso nunca aconteceu em mais de 50 anos. Seria algo sensacional ter não só uma mulher, como uma mulher negra a conseguir esse feito.
Porém... eu duvido muito que isso aconteça... existe muita pressão em cima dos juízes, com movimentos como os Sad Puppies. Ficaria com um nome mais tradicional esse ano.
