Motivo do desligamento é dar melhor suporte para games novos.
Maioria dos títulos são de esporte.


A produtora Electronic Arts divulgou uma lista de seus games que terão seus servidores de partidas on-line desativados a partir deste ano. O motivo do desligamento, de acordo com a companhia, é permitir que os games mais recentes apresentem maior qualidade e estabilidade em seus modos de confronto pela internet.
A empresa se baseia no número de jogadores que utilizam os serviços on-line de games antigos como "FIFA 09", e "UEFA Euro 2008", ambos lançados em 2008. "Os jogos da EA Sports agendados para o desligamento entre fevereiro e março de 2011 representam cerca de 1% de todos os jogadores on-line de todos os títulos da EA. Entretanto, existe o empenho de profissionais para manter os servidores de jogos antigos em funcionamento", afirma a EA em comunicado.
