Ah, eu acho ótima essa lista, costumo sempre consultá-la para escolher novas leituras. Mas é triste, Lucas, vários desses nunca foram traduzidos para o português... Como o "Infinite Jest", que o Rodrigo citou (e coitado do tradutor que tiver essa missão...)

Não conheço assim tantas coisas para dizer o que estaria faltando, mas um campo que me decepcionou nela é o da ficção científica. Não gosto muito nem de "Ubik" nem de "Neuromancer". Do Philip K. Dick, acho que "O Homem do Castelo Alto" e "Blade Runner", por exemplo, são melhores. "Neuromancer" dá para entender, pela influência no gênero cyberpunk...

Já ouvi falar tanto desse livro. Vou tentar (sem prazo definido) encontrar os títulos dessas obras em português, caso haja tradução.

"Vasto Mar de Sargaços", pela editora Bertrand de Portugal. Aqui no Brasil não encontrei...

Li só as primeiras páginas, de onde se sabe que a história começa na Jamaica, em um tempo de transformações políticas, em que os brancos passam a se sentir acuados pelos negros. A protagonista pertence a uma família que não tem muitas ligações sociais, e que por isso sofre um rápido declínio na sua situação...

Estou até com vergonha do número enorme de livros na lista e de ter lido poucos dos listados. Mas eu achei bizarro o fato de só terem livros publicados a partir do século XX, tem bem mais coisa em inglês de importância igual (ou maior, eu diria) em outras épocas. :disgust:

Ah, e também acho interessante tentar ler no original! Como assim só se lê se for traduzido? Muito se perde nas traduções do inglês para o português, e a leitura no original quase sempre é superior do que a da tradução. Existem até versões bilíngues hoje em dia...
