Ian from The Tolkien Society writes,The 30-year wait is over! The world-wide launch for The Children of Hurin will begin on Tuesday April 17th at 10am at Waterstone's Bookshop Picadilly, London. Join us for a daylong extravaganza of readings, competitions & activities in store.
Illustrator Alan Lee will be signing the new novel (10am - 3pm). 50 bookplates signed by Christopher Tolkien will be awarded to the first 50 people through the doors. Bernard Hill will read the first chapter of The Children of Hurin. Characters from the new Lord of the Rings stage show will be in store throughout the day. David Brawn publishing director of HarperCollins will be talking with Alan Lee.
If you are unable to attend, we can often reserve signed copies. Pleasecontact the branch for details. Signed copies cannot be guaranteed and maynot carry dedications. Currently Alan Lee will be in the store during the day signing copies of the book. Bookplates will be given to the first 50 people through the door on the day.
