Terminei de ler Watchmen agora a pouco. Cara, estou com uma sensação meio "nhé" mas, calma, explico.

A história é fantástica, a arte é maravilhosa e os capítulos IV e V realmente explodiram minha cabeça não somente pela história em si, mas pelo casamento praticamente perfeito da narrativa do Moore com a arte do Gibbons. O grande problema de tudo é que eu lembrava de praticamente tudo por conta do filme. Fiquei numa expectativa grande aqui porque sabia que o final do filme é diferente do final da HQ, mas no final das contas, nem é tãããããão diferente assim, então a única coisa que eu achei que iria descobrir não teve nenhum sentimento de descoberta mesmo.

Acho que as partes que eu mais aproveitei em termos de descoberta foram nos textos de final de capítulo mesmo, estes sim foram novidades pra mim, especialmente os primeiros, que têm a história dos Minutemen.

Então, crianças, a lição que fica é: leiam, sempre que possível, a obra original (HQ, livro, whatever...) antes de ver o filme. Sei que no caso de Watchmen tem 5 anos que o filme ta aí, mas se tiverem esta chance, aproveitem. Agora quero ler V de Vingança. Apesar de já ter visto o filme também, ao contrário de Watchmen, eu só lembro linhas beeem gerais da história, sem muitos detalhes

Does Frozen Include an Homage to Watchmen?

Various people have noted that the “Let It Go” sequence from Frozen bears a surprising resemblance to the Mars sequence from Watchmen. Both sequences find our heroes (Elsa in Frozen, Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen) exiled in a distant, lifeless location contemplating whether to wield their powers, because they have been accused of being dangerous to others. Both sequences culminate in our heroes deciding to unleash their powers, which they demonstrate by raising giant crystalline palaces out from the ground.

Whether or not the most famous sequence in Frozen is an homage to Watchmen, this hasn’t stopped fans of each from mashing the two together in videos and fan art. The best of these mashups—and the one that best demonstrates the unlikely similarities between these two sequences—comes from Alex Wolinetz, who combined Dave Gibbons' Watchmen illustrations with the lyrics from Frozen. We asked Wolinetz to reprint his mashup in full here, so you can check out the whole thing below and make up your mind for yourself.

“I wanted to … make [Rorschach] as like, ‘this is what Batman would be in the real world’. But I have forgotten that actually to a lot of comic fans, ‘smelling’, ‘not having a girlfriend’, these are actually kind of heroic! So Rorschach became the most popular character in Watchmen. I made him to be a bad example. But I have people come up to me in the street and saying: ‘I AM Rorschach. That is MY story’. And I’d be thinking: ‘Yeah, great. Could you just, like, keep away from me, never come anywhere near me again as long as I live?’"
