Today marks the 69th anniversary of the release of The Hobbit in 1937. Think of all of the great events which have happened throughout the world, and The Hobbit is still going strong. Next year we will be an even greater mark as The Hobbit turns 70 and The Silmarillion turns 30. Read Tolkien Library's article in honor of this occassion. It includes some reviews dated back to the book's release as well as some errors the book was published with and even a first edition up for sale.
