Hoje comprei um livro de obras completas de Edgar Allan Poe, e vi um poema que gostei muito. Vou postar tanto a versão original quanto a traduzida...
Alone
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I lov'd alone.
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mistery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold -
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by -
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
Só
Não fui, na infância, como os outros
e nunca vi como outros viam.
Minhas paixões eu não podia
tirar de fonte igual à deles;
e era outra a origem da tristeza,
e era outro o canto, que acordava
o coração para a alegria.
Tudo o que amei, amei sozinho.
Assim, na minha infância, na alba
da tormentosa vida, ergueu-se,
no bem, no mal, de cada abismo,
a encadear-me, o meu mistério.
Veio dos rios, veio da fonte,
da rubra escarpa da montanha,
do sol, que todo me envolvia
em outonais clarões dourados;
e dos relâmpagos vermelhos
que o céu inteiro incendiavam;
e do trovão, da tempestade,
daquela nuvem que se alterava,
só, no amplo azul do céu puríssimo,
como um demônio, ante meus olhos.
