Peter Jackson discusses The Hobbit with AICN

Ain't It Cool News has a lengthy interview with Peter Jackson which features a large chunk detailing Jackson's views on The Hobbit. To sum it all up:

• he says "The Lord of the Rings" films weren't bad but he had to rush through them due to deadlines and they could have been better.
• he has not been contacted and if no one contacts him soon his schedule will be too busy to film it.
• he likes the idea of filming The Hobbit in two pieces
• he wants to make it more complex and less like a kids book for which it was intended
• he wants to bring back as many cast members as possible. (sorry Purists)
• his lawsuit with New Line has no effect on him directing or being a part of The Hobbit film.
