Northern Kings: Projeto do vocalista do Sonata (Kaako) com o baixista do Nightwish (Marco), junto com mais dois vocalistas de menor expressão da cena finlandesa. A idéia era coverizar clássicos pops dos anos 80, em versões totalmente novas, metalizadas. E o resultado é muito bom, todos os vocalistas fazem um excelente trabalho e as novas versões funcionam bem.
Kotipelto: Fiquei surpreso com esse álbum, já que o anterior dele (Coldness, de 2004) era horrivelmente chato. Esse já começa com uma pedrada, a Once Upon a Time, que é fudida. O nível cai um pouco ao longo do cd, talvez por tudo soar muito parecido. Esse na verdade é o grande problema, pois o som se assemelha muito ao Stratovarius, que hey, já é repetitivo pra caralho. Então acaba que no final do disco você acaba só se lembrando bem das primeiras músicas mesmo. O que é bom, já que são as melhores.
Mors Principium Est: Banda claramente influenciada pelos seus colegas finlandeses do Children of Bodom. A idéia é basicamente a mesma, power/speed metal agressivo com vocais guturais e teclados permeando a coisa toda. Tem uns solos de guitarra alucinantes.
Agent Steel: Banda de thrash bastante cultuada pelos seus trabalhos nos anos 80, mas que nesse novo milênio aparentemente resolveram seguir o caminho mais fácil, fazendo aquele já conhecido som monótono, com as guitarras tunadas lá em baixo, uma produção modernosa e uns riffs meio nu metal, o que é desprezível. Tem umas 3 músicas que se salvam, mas o resto do cd é bem fraco.
