Bem, depois de várias (várias...) tentativas de compreender a suposta "mina de ouro" que é Return of the Cookie Mountain, hoje eu finalmente cheguei a algum lugar. Alguma engrenagem encaixou no lugar na minha cabeça e o método do TV on the Radio passou a fazer perfeito sentido. Eu acho que, por alguma associação mal-informada, eu tava esperando outro tipo de atmosfera desse disco, e depois que eu me livrei dos preconceitos, eu pude aceitar a obra pelo que ela é. É o que ela é é basicamente o equivalente a uma viagem de ácido num mundo pós-camada de Ozônio. Aqueles recheios de feedback de guitarras no fundo dão uma sensação de estar sofrendo insolação aguda; é basicamente um My Bloody Valentine (a intensidade calorosa) menos histérico com uma preocupação enorme com o groove. Nem o multitrack dos vocais estão me irritando mais. O que eu quero dizer é que esse disco é muito, muito foda.

Já o Drum's Not Dead -- a minha outra reação-"O Que Será Que Eu Tenho Que Fumar Pra Gostar Disso. O Que Será." desse ano -- ainda não tem a menor graça. É como se alguém mandasse os integrantes do Animal Collective correr numa maratona de 30 km com bolas de cimento presas nos pés, e quando alcançassem a linha de chegada, fossem jogados num porão escuro, espancados e ordenados a compôr outro disco "tribal".

PS: Eu compreendo que a minha descrição de DND acidentalmente fez o disco parecer intrigante. Mas não é. Esse disco é chato. Meu deus ele é chato. O que não significa que eu não vou continuar tentando.

"You Are a Knife", "Can You See Anything?" e "From A to B" são melhores ainda.

Anyway, eu tirei esse album da minha lista pq eu suspeito que o ano de lançamento dele (por mais limitado que seja o lançamento) é 2005. Caso algum futuro registro no AllMusic (por onde eu me guio em relação a datas) conteste essa informação, eu coloco de volta.

PS: O disco ainda é violentamente foda.

Tem uma compilação do Darondo ali no meio, eu só pus ela na lista porque é o "primeiro disco" dele, embora boa parte das gravações sejam dos anos 70 etc (EU ACHO). Aliás, esse disco é uma das perolas - que provavelmente ficarão perdidas na história - do funk.

2 Many DJs vão tocar no Nokia Trends em SP, então, manos e minas de sampa meu façam o favor de ir.

Bonnie Prince e seu The Letting Go tá alto, porque me impressionou nas primeiras vezes, se ouvir mais talvez caia.

Califone é foda, algo que viaja entre Wilco + folk + elementos estranhos (drogas?) é provavel que suba. A primeira música me lembrou bastante King Crimson 80's, o Khansc gostou e não gosta de KC80's, algo que errado acontece aqui!

Lupe melhorou muito, era uma bosta a primeira vez que ouvi, agora tá bem bom.

Townshend & Daltrey Project ou Townshed feat. Roger Daltrey fizeram um disco decente para o esperado, mas MUITO abaixo do que pode se dizer que era/é The Who um dia. Mas tudo bem, não fiquei tão triste, isto é, se ano que vem eles realmente aparecerem por aqui.

O resto é irrelevante. Ah sim, Cordel é chato heim? Eu tentei ouvir um outro disco anterior a esse e foi ainda mais insuportável. Legal que esse conta com a participação do B-Negão, boa escolha para uma das músicas que valem no disco.
