História da banda
O Cinderella surgiu de outra banda de hard rock pouco conhecida, Deep Freeze, banda de Priscilla Harriet. Tom Keifer e Eric Brittingham abandonaram a banda da exótica vocalista para dar início na que seria uma das mais bem sucedidas bandas da década de 1980. Com o conhecimento adquirido ao longo do tempo, a banda começou abrindo shows de bandas como AC/DC e Mötley Crüe.
O primeiro disco batizado de “Night Songs” mostrou que a banda não estava para brincadeiras. A capa possui uma foto dos integrantes no mais puro visual Hard rock glam. O som vai nessa linha e com pitadas de Country Music. O Cinderella despontava no cenário, além de Eric e Tom, a banda contava com Fred Coury na bateria e Jeff Labar na guitarra. Do primeiro álbum, as canções destaques são “Nobody's Fool”, “Shake Me” e "Somebody Save Me" superando muitas bandas de hard rock em Técnica e em termos líricos.
O segundo álbum teve o nome de Long Cold Winter e mostrou a banda com um visual mais comportado, deixando um pouco de lado as cores e a purpurina. A capa do disco não teve foto; é apenas branca com o logotipo. O amadurecimento refletiu-se na música também. "Gypsy Road" e "Comin’Home" mostravam que as pitadas de Country estavam aumentando cada vez mais. "Don’t Know What You Got… Till It’s Gone" levou a banda à disputa nas rádios. O Cinderella se tornava cada vez mais popular, abrindo shows ao lado de bandas como o Skid Row e para o Bon Jovi e chegando inclusive a emprestar seu baterista ao Guns N' Roses.
Em 1990 “Heartbreak Station” foi lançado, e sua faixa título ganhou notoriedade, emplacando nas rádios, inclusive do Brasil. Neste álbum também se encontra “Shelter Me”, a mais bem sucedida canção da banda. Seguiu-se uma longa digressão para promocionar o seu trabalho. Entre muitos problemas, a banda passa três anos sem gravar nada. Apenas em 94 eles entram em estúdio e gravam “Still Climbing”, sem o baterista Fred Coury (que tocou em apenas uma faixa). O trabalho de baquetas neste disco foi dividido entre Kevin Aronoff e Cozy Powell.
Apesar de trazer boas canções como “Through the Rain” e “Easy Come Easy Go…” o disco sofreu boicote da mídia que queria acabar com o hard de vez e promover o grunge.
Mais tarde, Fred voltaria à banda no lançamento de “Once upon a…” que não passa de uma coletânea.
Assinando contrato com um selo independente, a banda lança “Live at the Key Club”, um disco ao vivo, com os maiores sucessos. A partir de 1999, eles voltam a fazer grandes turnês junto de outras bandas de hard como Slaughter, Poison e Faster Pussycat. A banda pode lançar a qualquer momento um novo álbum de estúdio.

Still Climbing (8 de novembro de 1994)
Infelizmente, o álbum foi vítima da nova política da MTV que o ignorou, e uma gravadora que o mal promoveu, tudo a fim de testar diferentes mercados, um padrão que continuaria durante todo o resto das décadas de 1990 e 2000.
Apesar dos três primeiros álbuns da banda alcançarem a certificação de platina, o domínio do grunge e o rock alternativo em meados dos anos 1990 foi tão forte que forçou Still Climbing a alcançar a humilde #178 posição e sair da parada em algumas semanas. Apresentando os sucessos menores "Bad Attitude Shuffle" (que foi lançada como single), "Hard to Find the Words" e "Hot and Bothered" que fez parte da trilha sonora do filme Quanto Mais Idiota Melhor, o álbum não deu em nada, sendo o último álbum de estúdio da banda, destacando-se como um excelente exemplo da perda de popularidade de bandas de glam metal dos anos 80 após a década de 90.

Eu gosto muito dessa banda. Eu já tinha ouvido recentemente (a uns 2 anos) a discografia dela, mas não tinha me apegado e recentemente (1 ano pra cá) eu ouvi uma música e fui re-ouvir a discografia e comecei a gostar de fato. A mistura de rock e blues é muito bem feita e o som deles é muito bom.
Coincidência ou não, depois que já era um "fã" (não gosto dessa palavra, mas enfim) eu percebi que muitas letras se encaixavam com algum fato de minha vida.

Eu não consigo dizer porque eu gosto, é sentimental. Gosto da melodia e da letra. Foi a primeira música que ouvi deles no álbum de coletânea de hardrock ballads Love Metal. Gostei e fui ouvir a discografia. Ela que me apresentou a banda.

Essa já tem um ritmo mais animado. O título já diz sobre o que é a música. O amor tem feito ele se sentir numa prisão. Porque todos nós (imagino) sabemos como é sofrer por causa de alguém. Gostar de alguém que não merece e/ou que nos faz sofrer por gostar dela.
Tem muitas outras músicas que gosto deles, mas que não dava pra fazer um Top 20. Coming Home, Shelter Me, Shake Me, Gypsy Road, Long Cold Winter, Dead Man's Road, In From The Outside, War Stories etc.
