De acordo com as especulações que li, o protagonista será o Hippie do ITEC, alojado em algum tipo de sanatório após os eventos desse álbum.

Ja tinha especulações de que o Me do Human Equation era o Hippie. Algumas musicas do 2º cd do ITEC davam a entender que era ele.

An ethical discussion before the creation of mankind, the seed of Forever's race? "We vanquished the dinosaurs" <--- Forever on ItEC! That's just a flash in my mind - they killed the dinosaurs - who didn't have obvious emotions! So they planted the seed of men to be able to find out about emotions of which they forgot! So that might be the connection to Tom Englund who sees "only reptiles" when he discovers planet earth - thus, Tom would then be someone of Forever's race! GAAAAH *head explodes*

Figuratively? Meaning they are in a state without any emotion? Decadent and - like Forever - doing everything to get back their emotion before they die out?

Meaning that they shall find out what human emotions are made of or how they can use that knowledge => which Forever later did in ItEC and tHE! There's the big hint! "Emotions.. I remember", he saved his race of dying out with tHE! Well, in case he can translate his knowledge into practical thinking.
