Amon Amarth

Biografia:

Lançaram a demo "Thor Arise", gravada em 1993 no Studio Lagret, mas nunca foi lançada devido à pobre qualidade sonora . Continha um cover do Black Sabbath "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". A segunda demo "The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter" foi gravada em 1994, e com esta fita, que ganhou boas críticas, o Amon Amarth recebeu a oferta de um contrato com uma gravadora. Em 1995 gravaram o MCD "Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds", no The Abyss Studios, do vocalista/líder da banda Hypocrisy Peter Tagtgren, e o lançaram em 1996. Mais tarde naquele mesmo ano, Amon Amarth assinou com a Metal Blade Records, e em Março de 1997 a banda entrou no Sunlight Studio para graver seu primeiro álbum , "Once Sent From The Golden Hall" , lançado em 1998. Como a qualidade sonora mais uma vez ficou comprometida, o álbum foi regravado no The Abyss Studios em 1998.

Voltando ao Abyss em 1999, a banda grava seu segundo álbum “The Avenger”, e atinge o Mercado internacional, ganhando fama de uma das melhores bandas de Viking Metal da Europa.

Em 2000, o Amon Amarth entrou em estúdio para gravar o álbum “The Crusher” (lançado em 2001), terceiro album de estúdio, que mais uma vez foi gravado no The Abyss com Peter Tagtgren e é considerado o melhor album da banda até o momento.

Então, em 7 de Agosto de 2002, a banda lança o novo álbum "Versus the World". Dessa vez o álbum foi gravado no Berno Studio, já que Peter Tagtgren não produz/ grava com bandas, que não a sua (Hypocrisy). O novo álbum, programado para 17/Nov já tem título e se chama "Fate of Norns", também gravado no Berno Studio.
